Schiphol Airport Amsterdam improves its sustainability
Schiphol Airport Amsterdam improves its sustainability by installing Innolumis LED lighting on its personnel parking area and achieves 70% energy savings.
In total 544 conventional high pressure sodium lamps were replaced with Innolumis White Moonlight LED light sources. As a result, the annual energy consumption for the P40 parking area is reduced by 137,000 kWh - equivalent to the consumption of 39 households. CO2 emission is reduced by 77.5 tons per year. The 20 year lifetime of the Innolumis LED luminaires reduces maintenance to a minimum. The system causes no light pollution.
Cost- and energy efficient policy
Schiphol has deployed various initiatives to achieve a responsible cost- and energy efficient policy. For example, it is using geothermal heat pumps for the airport terminal, the offices of TransPort, and the Schiphol Group headquarters.
